Agnes M Melton, 88, went to her heavenly home Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2024, at the Yorktown Manor Health Care Center following an extended illness.  She was born on October 7, 1935, in Muncie, the daughter of Arlie and Genevieve (Dumpert) Lloyd.

Agnes attended Muncie Community Schools and later married the love of her life Loyde R. Melton on June 15, 1951, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2017.   Mrs. Melton became a homemaker and attended The East 16th St. Church of God where she served in the Nursery and was also a Custodian.  She treasured time with her family the most.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Melton (Deann), and Randy J. Melton (Deborah), both of Muncie; one daughter, Patricia A. Butler (Ronnie), Muncie; eight grandchildren, Pat Walker, Amanda Wooldridge (Andy), Amy Logan (Joshua), Tiffany Watson (Aaron), Tonya Butler, Joe Melton, James Butler (Terri) and Dale Butler (Jackie); several great-grandchildren; several great, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of 66 years, Loyde, she was preceded in death by grandson, Matt Butler; one great-grandson, Landon Melton; one granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Melton; her parents, one brother Francis Lloyd; and one sister, Sharon Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on March 1, 2024, at Parson Mortuary at noon with Pastor Doug Lucy officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on March 1, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
