Alice E. Phillips, 99, went to her heavenly home, late Friday evening May 31, 2024, at her residence.  She was born on May 3, 1925, in Muncie the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (Hess) Tucker.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Charolette, and her husband Bill.  They were married on November 1, 1941, and remain sweethearts forever.

She is survived by her daughters Kay Baldwin and Sally Sloan with whom she resided.  She cherished her grandchildren Rob Sloan, and Jessica Baldwin Guggenheimer (Max), and her two great-grandsons Declan Guggenheimer and Lochlan Sloan.  Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survived her.

Serving the homeless and needy was the passion of her heart.  She volunteered at Shepherd Community Center in Indianapolis for many years. She continued making hundreds of quilts and items of clothing for those in need until the end of her life. 

Alice was a longtime member of the Castleton Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with family friend, Jim Bowman officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery 4600 W. Kilgore Ave. Muncie, Indiana.  The family would welcome friends to share time with them at the Southside Church of the Nazarene, 3500 Fuson Rd. Muncie, IN after the graveside service.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 11:30 A.M.  until the time of the service.
