Ms. Almyra David, 95, passed away on 9/24/2021 after a brief illness. She was born in St. Louis, MO on July 31st, 1926 to James and Emily Hisle (Schultz). She moved to Muncie, Indiana as a child and stayed as a lifelong resident. She retired from Ball State University custodial services and subsequently had a career of assisting in raising grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She took great pride in her landscaping and garden. If you drove down her street most anytime, you would see her working on her yard. It gave her joy when neighbors drove by and gave her compliments on how nice it looked. For many years she crocheted and participated in the BSU craft show and she loved her many years traveling to as many states as she could. She loved to watch Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, and reminded everyone not to call when they were on. At Family events she was the center of the activity sharing the many memories and stories of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Diane David, granddaughter, Angie Summers, Lisa David and grandson David Elder. Siblings, Cecil Hisle, Fanny Abercrombie, Mary Davis, James Hisle, Jr., Joe Hisle, Virginia Pence, Dorothy Hisle.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Noble, Shirley Stader, and Larry David, wife Patti and sister Evelyn Whitney. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Debbie Martin, Shannon Sitgreaves, Jim Noble, Jennifer David, Larry David II, Thom Noble, wife Jamie, 17, great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Elder Todd Stultz officiating. Public services conclude at the Mortuary. A private family graveside will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
