Austin Lee Hatten, 23, went to be with Jesus on July 25, 2026, in Muncie, Indiana.  Austin was born on January 9, 2003, in Muncie, the son of Kevin Hatten and Crystal Carnes.

Austin graduated from Muncie Central High School and attended Ivy Tech College, where he was on the Dean's List.  In addition, he worked for Midwest Metals in Muncie.

He was an avid hiker who loved spending time outdoors.  He was a very loving and caring person who checked in on his family and friends often.  He always seemed to show up at just the right time, offering love and praying for those in need.  He was a very intelligent young man who was extremely dependable and always put others first.  Most importantly, Austin knew, loved, and accepted Jesus as his savior and was a member of River of Life Church in Muncie.

Austin is survived by his parents, brothers, Mason Hatten, Jeffrey Cole, Lucian Cole, and Jayveri Carnes; a sister, Lindsey Hatten; his grandma, Peggy Carnes (Joe); uncles, Jack Carnes (Jessica), and Jeff Carnes; as well as nephews Matthew, Kyler, Bryson, and Zane, and a niece, Nova.  In addition, he leaves behind a special cousin, Jackson Carnes, and many other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana, on Thursday, July 30th, at 12:30 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM on the day of the service.

Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, 1400 W. Kilgore, Muncie.  Pastor Justin Wallen will officiate.
