Barnnie Woody, 77, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on August 10, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1948, in Wayne County, Kentucky, to Steve and Lela (Gibson) Woody.

Barnnie was known for his love of conversation and his joy in spending time with family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and relaxing on his pontoon boat at the reservoir, a favorite pastime for the last 25 years. He had a passion for capturing memories with his camcorder—something that may have occasionally annoyed his loved ones, but has left them with cherished footage to remember him by.

He worked for Oren and several construction companies over the years, specializing in concrete work, a trade in which he took great pride.

Barnnie is survived by his loving partner of 36 years, Greta Rutter; daughter, Tonya Bastin (Matt); son, Barnnie Woody (Amy); stepchildren, Heather Rutter and Jasun Rutter (Michele); grandchildren, Trevor Smith, Kylie Moucha (Brian), Destiny Rollins, Storm Rollins (Makayla), Luke Rollins (Paedra), Charlotte Rutter, Cooper Rutter, and Crosby Rutter; great-grandchildren, Brielle, Brayden, Blu, Bentley, Ayla, Romeo, and Blaklee; sisters, Mildred Beeson, Brenda Wright, Cindy Haste (Ronnie), and Lesa Cox; brother, Larry Woody (Beverly).

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Storie; and brothers, Carlen Woody, Ronnie Woody, and Steve Woody (Leotta).

A memorial service will be held at Parson Mortuary on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service.
