Betty June Dye (Stanley), 82, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, following a brief illness.
Betty was born on May 18, 1943, in Muncie, Indiana, to Arthur and Paraiso (Gossett) Dye. She graduated from Royerton High School in 1961 and went on to attend secretarial school. Betty dedicated many years of her life working at Ball Hospital and continued her career in the medical field at various locations until her retirement.
Betty will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her caring nature, and the deep love she had for her family. She especially cherished time spent with loved ones, enjoying family gatherings, as well as her hobbies of crafting and journaling. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and quiet strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three sons: Michael Lacy, of Indianapolis, Indiana; Jeff Lacy, and his wife, Michelle, of Muncie, Indiana; and Kitrick Brubaker of Dunkirk, Indiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Taylor Lacy (Vu) and her husband, Dr. Linh Vu; Skylar Lacy; and Haylee Lacy. As well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Larry Britenbaugh (2012) and Steve Stanley (2022). As well as her mother and father, Parasio and Arthur Dye, her brothers Arthur Dye Jr. and Reginald Dye.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16th, at Compass Church, 400 N. County Road 600 East, Selma, Indiana. Family gathering will begin at 12:00 p.m., friends are welcome at 12:30 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to a local Cancer Charity of their choice.
