Betty J. Neal, 89, went to her heavenly home, on Sunday evening, January 7, 2024, at Morrison Woods Health Care Center following an extended illness.  She was born on January 22, 1934, in New Castle the daughter of William and Anna Lee (Wesley) Langdon.

Betty graduated and had married the love of her life Henry Neal in 1950.   He preceded her in death in 1984.  Mrs. Neal had worked in the Custodial Department of Ball State University for twenty years before her retirement.  She had been a member of the University Christian Church.  Betty also liked to travel whenever possible.  She loved planting roses.   Mrs. Neal had worked with Bob Ross at Ball State University and became one of his students as well.  Mostly, Betty treasured the times she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two children, Peggy Dickover (Dennis), Noblesville and “Barney” Gerald Neal (Karen), Muncie; Six grandchildren, Michele (Michael), Kristie, Stacy (James), April (Paul), Todd (Jenna) and Jaime; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara McCarty, New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of thirty-four years, Henry, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Irene and Carol, one brother, Bill, and one grandson, Erik Neal in 2022.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at noon at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Marie Williams Hawkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.  Due to the possibility of inclement weather, the services will conclude at the Mortuary.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
