Betty Louise (Jones) Tooley

Betty Louise (Jones) Tooley passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 9, 2021.  She was born February 13th, 1930, in Mattoon, IL to Dora (Chaney) Jones and Emery Jones.  Both parents preceded her in death. 

Betty graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1948.  Following high school, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) E. Tooley.  Bob and Betty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Bob’s death in 1999.  After retiring, they enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family.  Betty loved all God’s creatures, especially the furry kind and she cared for many pets throughout her 91 years.  She was known by all to put friends and family first, always ahead of herself. 

Betty worked for Central Indiana Gas Co. in Muncie for many years, and she retired from N.G. Gilbert Corp. in 1991. 

She is preceded in death by three brothers Howard, William, and Max, and two sisters Alberta McCarthy and Mary Riley. 

Mrs. Tooley is survived by two sons Robert D. (Carol) Tooley of Albuquerque, NM and Terrance L. (Frances) Tooley of Indianapolis, IN as well as eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Southern Care and Kindred Hospice for all of their support and Deanna Barrett, Betty’s caregiver, for her love and kindness.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 13th at Parson Mortuary 801 W. Adams St. Muncie, IN with calling at 12:00 P.M.  Burial immediately following at Gardens of Memory Muncie.
