Bill A. Claflin passed away in his Muncie home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
A native of St. Mary's, Ohio, he had lived in Muncie since 1971. He graduated from Memorial High School. He attended Ivy Tech in Muncie, Indiana.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving 3 years during the Vietnam War.
His career began in 1971, with Ball Brothers. He retired after 38 years as Plant superintendent.
He was a world traveler and loved adventure. One of his hobbies was riding motorcycles, and he was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy A. Claflin, and his mother, Treva Claflin, of St. Mary's, Ohio, and his beloved dog, Pepper.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie S. Claflin, his daughter, Heather M. Claflin, and two sons, Joseph H. (Renee) and Michael D. (Kristy) Rooney. Grandchildren Anthony (Tina) Rooney, Erica (Luuk) Barink, Matthew (Brooke) Rooney and Kierstyn Rooney. Great grandchildren Phoenix, Sullivan, Parker, and Marley.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 14 at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana from 11 am to 1 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary's, Ohio.
Bill was a relaxed person in life and wanted his funeral to be relaxed too. Please dress casually.
