Billie Sue Henkel, 75, left this life on Monday morning, May 8, 2023, at the Yorktown Manor Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on June 13, 1947, in Muncie the daughter of Louis and Phyllis (McCune) Aerts.
Billie graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1965, later, she married the love of her life, Phillip Henkel on February 10, 1968, and he survives. Mrs. Henkel worked in Dinning Services for Ball State University for 20 years prior to her retirement in 2005. She was proud to have had her two sons graduate from Ball State University. Billie did sewing and knitting projects years ago prior to her illness.
Besides her husband of 55 years, Phillip, she is also survived by two sons, Jeff Henkel (Monica), Noblesville, and Dale Henkel, Castleton; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Louisa Henkel and Landon Mead Henkel both still at home; two sisters, Heather Aerts, and Nancy Hayes (Paul, Jr.), both of Ft. Wayne; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ron Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service.
