Brenda June Capek, age 71, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

She was born on February 12, 1954, in Muncie, Indiana, to Thomas and Hilda (Jones) Tighe.

Brenda had a joyful spirit and a warm heart. She loved dancing, cherished her beloved dogs, and found her greatest happiness spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Capek; her children, Dennis Crittendon and Misty Capek; grandchildren; Garth Crittendon, Natasha Crittendon (Byrd), Christopher Stromberger, Mickey Axel, Amber Axel, Andrew Capek, Arian Capek, Hunter Suarez, Deanna Suarez, Wyatt Forehand, along with several nieces and nephews; and her siblings, Jack Tighe and Tom Tighe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hilda Tighe, and her children, Matt Capek and Kandi Crittendon.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
