Brenda Sue Spurlock, 64, went home to the Lord on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, peacefully in the presence of her daughter’s home. She was born on January 8th, 1962, in Muncie, the daughter of Robert N. Spurlock and Virginia P. Spurlock "Shields".

Brenda attended Muncie City Schools. She was a homemaker who was a caregiver for her son, "Michael," for his 40 years. Brenda was much of a perfectionist who took pride in the way she carried herself. She had an attention to detail for decorating. Brenda was from the '70s era, a huge Kiss fan, and loved rock 'n' roll. In her younger years, she enjoyed hanging out by the poolside, sunbathing as her children swam at the public pools. Brenda enjoyed planting flowers, baking cherry cheesecake, and making the hottest chili that milk couldn't stop the burn. Her favorite pastime was shopping for the next best treasures. Brenda attended The Jar Community Church later in life and was baptized on August 23, 2020. She lost her hearing but was adamant about not missing a Sunday service. Brenda loved her daughter, grandchildren, and siblings, but had experienced so much loss in her life that it made relationships challenging. She often said she didn't belong in this world after losing her hearing. Brenda was a daddy's girl, the rock of the family, a mother, nanny, sister, and aunt. She will forever be in the hearts of many.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Deseray Coil, grandchildren Mackenzie Wolfe (husband Matt), Lora Gilreath (fiancé William T Cassel), and Raven Gilreath; great-grandchildren Genesis Harker, Emberlynn Wolfe, Josh Wolfe, Carter Shaw, Imojean Cassel, William R Cassel, Silas Cassel, and Lillian Cassel, sisters Shirley Strong (husband John), Linda Spurlock (companion Oscar Cox), Sheila Nelson (husband Jeff), brother Robert E Spurlock, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, son Michael Spurlock, and her brother David Spurlock.

A remembrance dinner for Brenda will be provided to the family by friends from Brenda's church. Deepest appreciation to our Jar Family!!
