Catherine Fern Bennett

Catherine Fern Bennett passed away on May 15, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1968, to Novy Doyle and Annetta Marie (Huser) Bennett, in Muncie, Indiana. 

Catherine was a wonderful daughter, sister, and amazing mother. In her earlier years, she enjoyed canvas painting and was a brilliant artist. Cathy graduated from Cowan High School in 1986, walking the stage on crutches with a broken knee. Her strength helped her overcome many obstacles throughout her life. She overcame asthma and ran the mini-marathon and several 5ks. She loved spending time with family, especially her son.  

She leaves behind her son, Matthew Bennett (14); her mother, Annetta Bennett; her brothers, Jeffrey Bennett and Michael Bennett; her sister, Karen Bennett; a niece; a nephew; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Novy Doyle Bennett; maternal grandparents, William and Netta Huser; paternal grandparents, Novy and Olive Bennett; uncle Thomas Huser; aunt Betty (Bennett) Servos; and cousins Allen Webster, Charles Servos, and Novy Servos.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, at 12:30 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Cathy will be laid to rest at Elm Ridge Cemetery immediately following.
