Charles William Claspell, 90, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at Brick Yard in Indianapolis. Born on September 25, 1934, in Flat Rock, Alabama, he was the beloved son of Lewis and Grace (Johnson) Claspell.
A true jack of all trades, Charles led a full and vibrant life. He was a race car driver, a boxer, a ballroom dancer, and a dedicated truck driver. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he lived life with strength, determination, and a joyful spirit. Above all, Charles found his greatest joy in his family—his grandchildren always held the top spot in his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Olive “Kitty” Claspell; his children, Charlie Claspell, Danny Shane Claspell, and Seda Mills (Randall); as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willie Claspell; and his children, Charles Claspell Jr., Felicia Claspell, Regina Claspell, and Katrina Wagner.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memory.
Charles lived a life of adventure, love, and service—he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
