Charles Richard Scott

Charles R. “Bud” Scott, 95, went to his heavenly home early Friday morning, August 18, 2023, at the Westminster Village following a brief illness.  He was born in Muncie on January 11, 1928, the son of Elmer C. and Wilma (Thornburg) Scott.

Charles graduated from Selma High School in 1946 and was a Proud Selma Blue Bird!  Later he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 and served honorably as a Corporal until 1953 when he was discharged during the Korean War.  He married Kay (Odle) Scott on September 21, 1975, in Gaston, Indiana and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2003.    Mr. Scott had been a machine operator for New Venture Gear for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1991.  He was a member of Agape Ministries for over 30 years and later attended The Garden at Gethsemane Church.  He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, and the Yorktown Lions Club, was known to be a Big Chicago Cubs Fan, and enjoyed playing Euchre and Golfing.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy A. Foster (Kerry), Gaston, Gloria Herman (Greg), North Webster, and Pam Waymire, Muncie; 2 sons, Charles Bruce Scott (Nancy) Sherwood, Oregon and Kendal May (Laura), Muncie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Former spouse and mother of his two eldest children, Patricia Ann (Snider) Foster; 1 sister, Carolyn Lasater (Gene), Gaston; 1 brother, Don Scott (Sandy), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife of 28 years, Kay, he was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Rodney May; 2 brothers, Carl and Gene Scott.

Funeral Services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Kate Muhlbaeir & Tony Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.  Delaware County Honor Guard will present the Flag.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
