Claude Allen Bright Sr., 88, of Muncie, Indiana passed away December 7, 2024, at Residence Muncie, Indiana. He was born on August 18, 1936, in Muncie, Indiana to Edward and Lula (Holman) Bright.
Claude was a devout member of Riverview United Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. His commitment to his faith and his church family was evident throughout his life. He was a man who cherished time spent with his loved ones, and he found great joy in attending church services and engaging with his community. His devotion shows no bounds after marrying the love of his life of 59 years Dona Faye, on August 24, 1957, in Jeffersonville, IN.
A proud veteran, Claude served his country in the United States Navy, earning the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him. His service to his country was a testament to his dedication and patriotism.
Claude had a passion for sports, particularly his love for the Michigan Wolverines and Tom Brady. He was a dedicated fan, supporting his teams with enthusiasm and loyalty throughout the years. His love for sports extended beyond the television screen, as he was also known to enjoy the excitement of horse racing.
Professionally, Claude worked for Indiana Steel and Wire, where he retired in 1997 after many years of hard work and dedication. He was also well-known in his community for delivering newspapers as a paperboy for an impressive 50 years. His commitment to his work and his strong work ethic left a lasting impact on those around him, that is evident by after retiring he became a crossing guard for Westview.
Claude is survived by his children; Kista Bright, Scott Bright (Jen), Todd Bright (Angie), 23 grandchildren; Amanda, Casie, Gabby, Taylor (Tylor), Logen (Brenton Sr.), Adison, Jayla, Leah, Laela, Jaleigha, Avery, Blayke, Leon, Khi, Isabella, Olivia, Brooklynn, Railynn, Aiden, Amiyah, Brenton Jr., Leo, and Allayzia, along with 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dona Faye, his son Claude A. Bright Jr., daughter-in-law Angie Smith-Bright, and 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be at Parson Mortuary on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 17th at Riverview Church: 6601 Black Mills Rd. Albany, IN at 12:00 p.m. with an hour visitation prior to service time.
