Dale L. Metcalfe

Dale L. Metcalfe, 80, went to sleep and opened his eyes in his heavenly home, late Tuesday evening at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.   He was born on January 27, 1941 in Marion, Indiana the son of Everett and Frances (Pownell) Metcalfe .

Dale graduated from Marion High School in 1959 and later married the love of his life Beverly (Coe) Metcalfe on November 24, 1962 and she survives.  Mr. Metcalfe had worked at RCA in Marion and later worked for Westinghouse then ABB for several years as a machine operator prior to his retirement in 1988.  He also worked for DelCom schools as a bus driver for 11 years.  He was a member of the Bethel Heights Wesleyan Church now known as Rising Hope Church.  He enjoyed golf, wood working, reading mysteries, westerns and played a variety of card games.  Dale especially treasured the time he could spend with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife of 58 years, Beverly, he is survived by his daughter, Susan Metcalfe (best friend- Susan), Muncie and three sons, Brian Metcalfe, New Castle, Alan Metcalfe (Ruth), Goshen and David Metcalfe (Angie), Muncie; four grandchildren; Staff Sgt.  Alexander Metcalfe in service in Italy, Molly Risser (Nik), Spring, Texas, Samuel Metcalfe, Goshen and Makenzie Metcalfe, Muncie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been chosen with a memorial service to be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Rising Hope Church at 12:00 P.M.  with Pastor Michael Hewitt officiating.  Parson Mortuary is entrusted with these arrangements.

Friends may call at Rising Hope Church on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.
