David Lee Fears, 74, passed away Sunday evening, May 5, 2024, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on, April 26, 1950, in Muncie the son of Hershel and Georgie (Cannady) Fears.
David graduated from Southside High School in 1968 and later married the love of his life, Jody (Moore) Fears on June 17, 1972, in Muncie and she survives. Mr. Fears had worked for the City of Muncie Street Dept. as a truck driver for 34 years before his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed watching the Hoosier Millionaire Television Show on Friday nights and also, cooking programs.
Besides his wife of 51 years, Jody, he is also survived by his children, Christopher Fears and Abigail Fears, both at home; one sister, Betty Dunnick, Albany; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Kimbrell, Carolyn Fears, and Donna Holman; two brothers, Robert Fears and, Herschel Fears, Jr.; one brother-in-law, Don Dunnick.
Cremation has been chosen with private burial of cremated remains at Beech Gove Cemetery at a later date. Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
