Deborah “Deb” Ann Cravens, 63, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2021, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on July 30, 1958 in Hartford City, Indiana the daughter of Wolferd Cravens, Jr. and Brenda (long) Cravens- Stanley.
Deb graduated from Lakeland Sr. High School in Lakeland, Florida 1976 and later attended Indiana Vocational Technical College (IV Tech). She became a Data processor for Clausing Manufacturing of Goshen, Indiana for over 25 years prior to teaching, and assisting in children’s day care centers. Ms. Cravens was a former member of the #3760 Eagles Lodge for over 20 years helping to cook in the kitchen. She enjoyed bowling when she was able to, doing crafts, collecting buttons, butterflies and unicorns. Mostly, her passion was working with children.
Survivors include one daughter, Emma Thompson (Cody Thompson), Gaston; one grandson, Phoenix Lee Thompson, a.k.a. “Bug”; four siblings, Michael Cravens, Muncie, Tammara Marshall (Paul a.k.a. “PJ”), Gaston, Rhonda Lowe, Muncie and Terry Cravens (Rhonda), Sacramento, California; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant sister, Tina Marie Cravens
Cremation has been chosen with a private gathering of friends and family at a later date. Parson Mortuary Cremation Center is entrusted with these arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help fund a future college education for Phoenix Lee Thompson.
