Dickie Davis Sr.

Dickie Davis Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 7th at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital. Dick was born November 1, 1941 in Muncie, IN and attended Muncie Schools.

Dick married the love of his life in 1962 and spent the next 59 years together and raised three children.  He was a journeyman welder for Westinghouse for 15 years and then Ford (Visteon) in Connersville until his retirement in 2003.

Throughout the years Dick enjoyed bowling and once bowled a perfect 300 game.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and rode until he was 74 years old.  He was able to go on his dream trip to Sturgis in 1998. He also enjoyed watching football and his favorite team was the Detroit Lions. In his pastime he enjoyed working on or fixing things whether it be automobiles, bicycles or something else.  If the garage door was up, Dick was working on something.  He shared his love for working on all things with anyone who came to ask for help.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings Wayne, Junior, Ronnie, Joan and Pat. He was also proceeded in death by his beloved dog, Hooch.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Davis and their three children, Amy Copeland (Joe), Marion, IL, Dickie Davis Jr. (Jill), Indianapolis, IN, Julie Terry (Ranzie), Muncie, IN;  grandchildren Nicholas Baltimore (Kristine), Englewood, FL, Justin Davis (Christa), Muncie, IN, Jessica Scroggins (Brad), Albany, IN, Mariah Lingerfelt (Ben), Clarksville, TN, Marisa Terry (Ron), Muncie, IN,  great- grandchildren, Annabelle Lingerfelt, Oakleigh Lingerfelt,  Emmalyn Lingerfelt, Kinleigh Jones, Cameron Jones.

Memorial services will be held at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center on Thursday January 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm. friends may call at Parson from 11:00 am until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
