Doris Louise (Wilkin) Humbert

  Funeral services for Doris L. Humbert will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center 801 West Adams Street Muncie, Indiana.  Officiating will be Bro. Rusty Clements. Interment will follow In the Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown, Indiana. 

  Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

  Those left to cherish her memories include one son, Steven Humbert and wife Debbie, one granddaughter, Stephanie Ogles and husband, Calvin, one grandson, Travis Humbert and wife, Lori, one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Humbert, one niece, Mary Ann Wilkin, two nephews, Larry Wilkin, and Michael Wilkin, plus several dear Humbert nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and close friends.

  She is preceded in death by her father, John Wilkin, mother, Ruth Hufford Wilkin, one brother, Ernest Wilkin, husband, Delmar “Jake” Humbert, Jr.

  Doris was born on Sunday, August 17, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 90 years old.

  Doris was a member of Christian Church of Yorktown for many years, she graduated college with a Master Degree in Education and went on to be a teacher at Yorktown Elementary for 38 years and enjoyed teaching, helping children to develop their skills and teaching them education was her specialty.  Traveling the roads and take trips with High Street Travels Day Trip she always looked forward to that, working in the yard and in her flowerbeds was one of her favorite things to do along just being in the outdoors enjoying God’s creation, after retirement she went to work at the Wee Wisdom Day Care in Muncie, Indiana along with Apple Tree, she also enjoyed going to the Teacher Retiree Lunch once a month, she will be deeply missed by all.

Memorials may be made to Muncie Mission in Muncie Indiana in honor of Doris.
