Duane Gilbert Stahl, 79, born May 19, 1946, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 9, 2025, in his hometown of Muncie, IN. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Duane served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated dedication, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to his fellow service members. During that time, he received multiple medals and citations.   After his military service, he pursued a career that reflected his strong work ethic and generosity of spirit, working at G&M Pet and Garden Center and Highway 3 Hardware. He took pride in helping customers, sharing his knowledge, and building lasting relationships in the communities he served.

Outside of work and service, Duane cherished travel and the adventures he shared with his wife, Linda, for 38 years. They explored new places, created memories, and embraced the joys of discovery together, a testament to the love and partnership that defined their life.

He is survived by two daughters: Andrea Miller of Muncie and his stepdaughter, Lana Porter (Charles), of Anderson. He also leaves behind a stepson, Randy Penix (Janet) of Muncie; a brother, David Stahl of Muncie; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry forward his memory with love and respect. and a multitude of friends whose lives he enriched.

Duane was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Stahl; his mother, Fern (Davis) Fenton; stepfather, Gene Fenton; father, Gilbert Stahl; daughter, Lesley VanVurst; sisters Diane Swope and Doris Reynolds; and brother Dwight Stahl. Their memories remain cherished by those who continue to honor their lives.

Visitation will be held to celebrate Duane’s life will be held on November 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana.  Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, IN.

Duane will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to those he loved.  May he rest in peace.
