Everett Z. Dick, 85, of Muncie, Indiana, died on February 5, 2023, at The Waters of Muncie., surrounded by his family and the caring staff. He was born in Cains Store, Kentucky, June 26, 1937, to Alonzo H. Dick and Grace E. (Thompson) Dick. He came to Indiana when he was just 16 years old and worked at the Eaton Canning Factory. In 1959, he started working at Marhoefer Meat Packing Co. and worked there until it closed in 1978. He also worked at Emge Packing Co., Overhead Door, and Muncie Community Schools, where he retired in 2002.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Dick, of 38 years, sons, Michael Duane Dick (Debbie), Charlie Morgan (Kelli), John Morgan (Melanie); daughters, Diane Watters (Troy), and Jennifer Quinn (David); daughter in-law, Kimm Morgan; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Dick (Cindy).
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Morgan (Kimm); grandson, Austin Matthew Quinn; sisters, Stella Irene Withers, Edna Pauline Corner, Alice Campbell; and brother Charles Dick.
Everett was known for his beautiful gardens, great sense of humor, loving demeanor, and his ability to fix and build anything. He loved being outside and working in the garage.
Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge. Dr. Philip C. Rogers will be officiating.
