Gary R. Benedict

Gary R. Benedict, 74, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on May 17, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by loving friends and family. He was born on October 1, 1951, in Aurora, Illinois, to Lewis and Elaine Benedict. He was raised by Roy and Helen Fears in Muncie.

Gary was a jack-of-all-trades. He worked for himself, mowing lawns, shoveling driveways, and repairing houses.

Gary is survived by his sister, Margaret Mercer; nephews, Danny, Brian, Roy & Chris; nieces, Sam, Julie, Ellen & Tina; and a host of really great friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Fears, and sisters, Betty Sloan & Dorothy DeVoe, and a nephew, Mikey.
