Gloria Jean (Marsh) LaGrange

Gloria Jean LaGrange, 77, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Advent Health Hospital Lake Wales, Florida following a brief illness.  She was born on May 15, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Lawrence Edward and Viola (Helmholt) Marsh.

Gloria graduated from Berkely High School in 1963 and later attended the University of Missouri St. Louis Campus and eventually married the love of her life, Richard LaGrange on December 14, 1968, and he survives.  Mrs. LaGrange had worked as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years before her retirement.   Gloria loved being a grandma and was known to be very welcoming when she met you, in fact, she tried to make everyone feel at home when they came to see her.  She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Muncie where she was active in the Altar Guild, and was an associate member of Christ Lutheran Church in Avon Park, Florida; She enjoyed doing quilting and crafts of all kinds and was a member of the Modern Mystics Women’s Home Extension Club, Post Office Posse, Morning Quilting Guild, and the (NARFE) National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Besides her husband of 54 years, Richard, she is survived by two daughters, Lenore Crone (Jeff), Muncie and Jeanette Wilde (Torsten) Konigs Wusterhausen, Germany; two grandchildren, Sarah and Owen Crone, Muncie; two sisters, Dolly Newman and Marlene Newman (Hubert), both of Missouri; one brother, Larry Marsh, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lillian Blank.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church 610 N. Reserve St. Muncie, IN 47303, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Danny Mackey officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.

Friends may call Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 22, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
