Harry L. Thomas Obituary

Harry L. Thomas Passed peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home with family, following an extended illness.

He was born in Muncie on February 8, 1937, to Eugene and Thadora Alberson Thomas and lived in the area his entire life. He worked and retired from Marsh Warehouse and the Teamsters Union.

Having been born during the great depression into a poor family, he was one of nine children, Harry saw value in everything. It was tough for him to drive by a flea market, yard sale, or dumpster without stopping and searching for treasures. He was known to bring home an old bike, fix it, and give it to a neighbor kid who didn’t have one. He had a huge heart and loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Harry married the love of his life Sharon K. Winkle on August 18, 1961, and they were together for 61 years until she passed. Her unwavering love for the Lord finally influenced Harry to accept Jesus and he was baptized on March 12, 2024.

Harry is survived by two sons, Daniel Thomas (Partner Kevin Mitchell), and Timothy Thomas, four grandchildren Justin Thomas, Stephanie Thomas, Zack Thomas (Wife Nichole), and Meghon Plank, five great-grandchildren, Marshall, Becca, Brantley, Monroe, and Keaton and one sister Lois Arnold.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, and seven siblings.

Harry’s favorite color was red, very fitting, he would always be known as bright and bold.

A celebration of life will be held at Parson Mortuary on February 28, 2025. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. until service time at 4:00 p.m. with Gary Kirchoff officiating.
