Hubert Keenan

Hubert Keenan, 85, passed away early Thursday morning, January 6, 2022, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born on  June 12, 1936 in Camels Creek, West Virginia, the son of Walter Hubert Keenan and Wilma (Bess) Keenan- Miller.

Hubert attended Camels Creek Community Schools and later married the love of his life, Lena (Christy) Keenan October 10, 1959 in Morehead, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2021.

Mr. Keenan had worked for Dayton Walther Corporation for 21 years prior to his retirement in 1997 in the Maintenance Dept.  While at Dayton Walter, he was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.  He had attended the Church of Christ of Christian Union Church several years ago.  Mr. Keenan had enjoyed hunting, bowling and was a fan of Elvis Presley.  Hubert enjoyed doing yard work and his favorite restaurant was White Castle Hamburgers.

Survivors include his three children, Sheila Mace (Chris Mace, Muncie, Denise Christy (Carl) Morehead, Kentucky and Tim Keenan (Jean) Yorktown; four grandchildren, Tabitha Barlow, Muncie, Zachary Mace (Brandy), Houston, Texas, Caleb Mace, Muncie and Cameron Keenan, Chicago; two great grandchildren, William Barlow and Hayven Jett, both of Muncie; one brother, Harold Keenan (Mary), Shiloh, Illinois; one sister, Mary Ann Green (Randy), Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena (Christy) Keenan, her parents.

A memorial service is will be held at Parson Mortuary Cremation Center on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.  with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating.  Burial of cremated remains will take place at Beech Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 12:00 P.M.  until time of service at 1:00 P.M.
