James R. Bowling “Bob or Papa Pop”, 72, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana.  James was born on June 9, 1951, the son of James A. and Lotena (Epperson) Bowling in Oneida, TN.

James retired from Muncie Properties after years in maintenance. Bob enjoyed playing pool, bingo, bowling at Liberty Bowl, and spending time with his family and friends. Especially, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Bruce Jordan, daughter Lawanna Saunders, former son-in-law Thomas Saunders, five grandchildren; Rebekah Ferrell (Michael), James Saunders (Britany), Shannon Saunders, Robert Wittenhouse, and adopted granddaughter Montana Montaque, ten great-grandchildren; Madilynne, Kaylee, Cyrus, Aiden, Carmen, Emrie, Preston, Mason, Brooklin, and Ace, Brothers; Michael Bowling (Girlfriend Debbie), Kenny Bowling, sisters; Rita (Mike), Faye, and Kay, along with numerous nieces and nephews, special niece that helped take care of Bob, Jill Hathway, and special friend Larry Edwards CNA.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife of 43 years Linda Bowling, two sisters Sue, and Altie Moffitt, brother Ernest Bowling, grandson Thomas Saunders Jr., and one great-grandson Michael Ferrell Jr.
