James E. Jones

James E.Jones, 79, passed away Saturday morning, January 15, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born on August 13, 1942 in Stearns, Kentucky the son of Billie and Retie (Biby) Jones.

Mr. Jones attended Stearns, Kentucky Community Schools and later married Sally (Thompson) Jones.  Mr. Jones owned and operated the Jones Backhoe Service installing water lines for over 40 plus years.  He attended Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.          

Survivors include, one son, William Jones, Muncie; one daughter, Helen Jones, Muncie; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; mother of his children, Diana Boles, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Jones in 1995; his parents; five brothers, Aubry, Ervin, DeFord, Kenneth and Virgil; two sisters, Alma Dobbs and Elva Vaughn.

Cremation is taking place with private burial of cremated remains at a later date.  The family will be planning a gathering of friends and family in the spring / summer season.
