Joanne Cameron, 89, left this life, early Sunday afternoon, September 1, 2024, at Bethel Point Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.  She was born on June 19, 1935 in Muncie the daughter of Vernie and Nellie (Sharp) Parks.

Joanne attended Selma Community Schools and later married the love of her life, Dale Kieth Cameron, Sr. on, August 12, 1950, in Muncie and he preceded her in death, June 2, 2021.  Mrs. Cameron became a homemaker and was the owner and operator of Home Interiors which she ran for twelve years prior to her retirement.    She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Muncie, enjoyed reading, camping and working in the yard.  She was known to be a loving mother and grandmother as well.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Slaughter (Thomas), Farmland and Peggy Haynes (Mike), Springport; one son, Sam Cameron (Cindy) Anderson; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lois Goodman, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of 71 years, Dale, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale Keith Cameron, Jr.; her parents and one sister, Marge Chandler.    

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jerry O’Neal officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Indiana.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until time of the service.
