John Wayne Buffalo, 81, of Hartford City, Indiana passed away December 6, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 27, 1942, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to John and Christine (Bonner) Buffalo.

John loved fishing, bowling, gardening, and spending time with his family and grandchildren, he also enjoyed watching football and auto racing. John retired from UPS after 27 years and also served his county in the National Guard in 1964.    

John is survived by his wife Sandy Buffalo of 41 years, children; DeDe Davis (Robin Slaven), Karen Bookout (Chris), Kathy Digman, Christina Buffalo-Thornton (Gabe), William Digman, Kevin Digman (Sandy), Keith Digman, Brother Bill Buffalo, 21 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Majorie Fields, Linda K. Gilbert, Ricky Buffalo, and sons; Baby John Buffalo, Chad Buffalo, and Ryan Brown. 

A special thank you to Kim and Tabitha from Heart-to-Heart Hospice for taking such great care and love of John, also thank you to Mackenzie who would come and help our family on the weekends. 

A graveside service will be held at Beech Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
