John David Cox, 84, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 28, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1940, in Cowan, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Nellie (Crawley) Cox.
John retired from the 3M Company and also spent many fulfilling years farming—something he deeply loved.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Mary Cox; daughter Kim Smith (Andy); granddaughter Ashley Smith; grandson Collen Delaney (Jacob); and son-in-law David Delaney. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley and Lucile, along with several nieces, nephews, including Brian Cox and Steve Lindley, and many cherished friends and neighbors.
John was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Pam Delaney; granddaughter Myah; his parents; and numerous brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to ARF (Animal Rescue Fund). There will not be any visitation or services requested by John.
