It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Gill, Muncie, IN, announces that John, 79, passed away at home on January 11, 2025.

John was born on October 30, 1945, in Muncie, IN, the son of Rollin and Madonna (Hobbick) Gill. He and his four brothers and sisters were raised in Muncie. John was a proud graduate of Southside High School. John was married to Sandra Gill, and they recently celebrated their 54th anniversary. John served in the Army for four years as an MP, serving in Korea. After serving our country John worked at Owen's Illinois, Maxon Corp, and retired after 31 years working for the US Postal Service. 

John is survived by his wife Sandra Gill, son Jon Gill (Amy), daughters Sharon Heritage (Del: Deceased), Rhonda Gates, and Cynthia Conner (Tim); grandchildren, Trisha Tilley (Brock), Lacey Lewis, Casey Conner (Autumn), Declan Gill, Regan Gill, and Brandon Lewis, six great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Camden, Braxton, Ethan, and Ellie; along with many nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Linda Gill and Lois Coulson (Joe).  

John is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Jerry Gill, Phyllis Crowe (Russell: Deceased), Shirley Goad (Dick: Deceased), and Jim Gilll (Kay: Deceased).
John cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially at family gatherings and holidays. John also loved watching IU basketball and listening to the Sunday morning countdown of sixties music. One of John's favorite sayings is, "We may not have it all together but together we have it all."

A memorial service will be held at Parson Mortuary on Friday, January 24, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
