Muncie: Johnny Douglas “Doug” Ashburn passed away on Wednesday March 25 2020 at I U Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Doug was born on November 15, 1952 to Lozena Irene (Norris) and John Hollis Ashburn in Nashville Tennessee. Doug played the guitar for family and friends, was a “whiz” working a crossword puzzel, and liked the solitude of fishing, tinkering with tools or his latest rebuild project. He loved family, grandchildren and friends.

He is survived by his wife Sondra (Hyde) Slusher Ashburn; daughters, Susan (Dave) Ashburn, Cindy (Rick) Myers, Debbie (Danny) Tighe, son, John Christopher Ashburn; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister Pat Barnhart and his loving niece Mary Watson. Many other nephews, nieces and extended family members will miss Doug.

Johnny’s parents, wife, Evelyn Ashburn; granddaughter, Angela Ashburn; sister, Linda Sue Lowe; brother, Roger Dale Ashburn preceded him in passing.

There will be a private memorial service later.
