Joni R. Curts, 69, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Alexandria Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born on, July 17, 1954, in Anderson, Indiana the daughter of Carl Hawkins and Maxine (Long) Hawkins-Dyer.

Joni graduated from Anderson Highland High School in 1972 and later married Samuel Curts on October 16, 1998, at their farm in Muncie. he survives. Mrs. Curts had been in health care of one sort or another most of her working life throughout the Muncie and Delaware County area. Most recently she had become an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and worked for Eaton EMT having served them for approximately five years before her retirement in 2019. She attended Bethel Church and enjoyed sewing, growing plants, and cooking. To say she was a good cook would be an understatement! Mostly, Joni treasured being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband of 25 years, Sam, she is also survived by six sons, Chris Badger (Rhonda), Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Darren Badger (Ashley), Golf Shore, Alabama, Joshua Badger (Candy), Chesterfield, Sammy E. Curts, Yorktown, Chuck Curts, Gaston and Joshua Curts (Mandi), Muncie; one daughter, Kira Aul, Dunkirk; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Douglas Dyer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Gors officiating.  Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery. Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
