Joseph Haskins Jr. Obituary

Joseph Haskins, Jr has joined his Heavenly family after a years-long battle with COPD. Born on August 25, 1950, to Joseph Haskins Sr., and Dorothy Jones; he was raised by his stepmother, Edna Haskins Maynard. He graduated from Southside High School in 1968, and was fascinated with electronics. Joseph studied at Manpower for a year before working at Television Headquarters, then Consolidated Electronics. Finally, he opened his own business, Consumer Electronics, in December of 1978.

Besides his love for his family and electronics, he also loved fishing, music, bowling, chess, billiards, and his friends. He was quick to help anyone who needed it, and he loved a good cookout or block party. His family remembers him fondly as a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, and he was stubborn in the best, most frustrating ways.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Terri L. Haskins; his children: Kevin Haskins, Sr (wife: Stacy Haskins), April Haffner (fiancé: Ryan McCready), Jeffrey, and Terri (preferred name Jake), as well as 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way; he's also survived by 2 half-sisters, Elaine and Jola, and half-brother Brian. He's preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, his brothers: Jesse, Michael, and Randy; and his sisters, Robin and Betty.

Friends may call on the family from 10:30 AM, Thursday April 10, 2025, at Parson Mortuary at 801 W. Adams St., in Muncie. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM.  Burial services will follow at Yorktown Cemetery.  Kevin Haskins Sr. will be officiating.
