Joyce Ann Hargis, 86, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on February 22, 2026, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born on August 28, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, to Golden and Anna (Rollen) Gragg.

Joyce enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She loved sewing, working puzzles, reading, bird watching, and gardening. She was a fan of country music and was an avid collector. She found a lot of joy in Coca-Cola. Joyce cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren. She was very active with her friends at Yorktown Manor and truly enjoyed their activities. Joyce worked for many years at Signature Inn and DIY.

She is survived by her daughters: Loretta Tobias; Lavonne Quakenbush (Tim); Lauren J.; and Melinda Green (Kevin). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Josh, Jason Richards; Shawn and Kevin Richards; TJ, Travis; Trent, and Taylor Quakenbush; Andrea, Kyle, Nick Hargis; Elizabeth Garner; Jeremy Hargis; Erin Mason; and Clayton Green.

Her great-grandchildren include Mason and Carson Richards; Cecelia, Cash Richards; Kyler; Jonathan Richards; Nolan; Parker Richards; Levi, Carly Quakenbush; Callen and Ryker Quakenbush, and Asher Hargis.

She is also survived by her siblings: Nancy Hicks (Raymond); Carol Swift (Tom); and sister-in-law Paula Gragg.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Lana Richards and Oscar Hargis; and her siblings: Ethel, Madonna, Janette, Gloria, Dorothy, Ralph, Golden Jr., James, Wayne, Roger, William “Billy,” and Mark.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.

Joyce will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
