Judith Beach Obituary

Judy Beach took her last breath on this Earth and first in her heavenly home on June 21, 2025 in Muncie, Indiana. At 77 years young, Judy lived a life filled with love, faith, grit, wisdom, and Muncie pride. Judy loved her family and friends deeply, often placing their needs before her own, even in her final days. Her infectious smile and compassionate care for others lit up the world around her.

Judy was born on July 6, 1947 in Logansport to Walter and Kathryn Scott. Upon completion of her high school years at Lewis Cass in Walton, Indiana, Judy attended Ball State University, receiving both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Judy went on to serve as an Elementary School Teacher at Muncie Community Schools for 33 years. Judy loved the work she was able to do for her students and their families, believing in their abilities to learn and grow. Judy also enjoyed playing the piano and organ at Mt. Olive Community Church and directed the church youth choir for Christmas plays and vacation Bible school.

Judy met the love of her life, Larry Beach, when she was 19 and he was 23 in while she was attending Ball State University. Following a short courtship, Judy and Larry married in 1967 and lived out their lives in Muncie. Judy gained the gift of a beautiful step daughter, Tammy, whom she cared deeply for when she married Larry. Judy and Larry were surprised by the gift of twin boys, Kevin and Kurt, in 1975. These rough and tumble boys were lovingly coined “The Beach Boys” throughout their growing up in Muncie. Kevin and Kurt both went on to become Athletic Trainers and Larry and Judy supported them and cheered them on every step of the way, attending many games, always beaming with pride for their Beach boys!

Kevin and Kurt married their beautiful wives and both grew their families through the incredible gift of adoption. Kevin and his wife, Sandra, have 3 boys; Jasper, Callan, and Skylar and Kurt and his wife, Leeann, have 2 kids; Mikayla and Colton. Judy adored her children and grandchildren, holding such special bonds with each of them…they were truly her pride and joy. It was an honor to be loved so deeply by such a profound woman.

Those Judy lovingly leaves behind include her sons, Kevin (Sandra) and Kurt (Leeann) Beach, grandchildren Jasper, Callan, Skylar, Mikayla, Colton Beach, Brian Detweiler and one great grandchild. She is also survived by a very special cousin Bobby Logan, who had become a third son to Larry and Judy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, step daughter Tammy Detweiler, and brother Everett Lee Scott.

Funeral services will be held on July 2nd, 2025 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rodney Eiler officiating. Visitation will take place at Parson Mortuary on July 2nd, 2025 from 9:30am until time of service at 11am.
