Julia “Guyneth” (Hewitt) LeFavour, 97, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Westminster Village following a brief illness. She was born on June 22,1924 in Selma, Indiana the daughter of Gola and Sarah “Sally” (Driskill) Hewitt.
Guyneth graduated from Center High School in 1942 and later graduated from Ball State Teachers College and eventually received her Master’s Degree from the University of Arizona. Guyneth married the love of her life, Frederick A. LeFavour on November 22, 1950 in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 2015. Guyneth taught business and music for the Auburn School Corporation, VanWert Community Schools in VanWert, Ohio, Liberty Township School in Selma and the Anderson School Corporation for an accumulative total of 40 years of service prior to her retirement in 1989. While in college, Guyneth was a member of Omega Sigma Chi sorority, Kappa Delta Pi and Pi Omega Pi honorary education and business education fraternities. Guyneth was also a charter member of Alpha Sigma Iota, national Music Sorority at Ball State. Later Guyneth, would become a member of the Friends Memorial Church and the Indiana Farm Bureau. Guyneth loved music and played the Violin with the Muncie Symphony for many years and also taught piano.
Survivors include 4 nephews, Kyle B. Jeffers, Albany, Jefry A. Jeffers (Lorraine), West Palm Beach, Florida, Thomas Hewitt, Tallahassee, Florida, Donald B. LeFavour, The Villages, Florida; 3 nieces, Judy Milligan (Doug), Berne, Camille Trolson, Indianapolis and Phyllis LeFavour Hummer, Ft. Wayne; several other nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Besides her husband of 65 years, Frederick, she was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Annamary Jeffers; 4 brothers, Leonard, Wilbur, Charles and Joseph Hewitt; 1 nephew, Robert LeFavour.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at Parson Mortuary with Chaplain Ron Naylor officiating . Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Windsor, Indiana.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M.
