Karen Sue Luttrell, 74, born October 17th, 1947, passed away at IUBMH hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2022, following an extended illness. Karen was born the daughter of Ernie and Catherine (Stegall) Espy, in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She attended area schools while living in Missouri, before ultimately moving to the Muncie area.
She had three brothers and two sisters. Virgil Stegall (Norma), Bill Stegall (Naomi), Don Stegall, Althea Hammonds (Larry), and Mary Andrews (Louis). She had two children, Nicole Ray and Donnie Rawlins (Stephanie).
Karen, who was an over-the-road truck driver, met the love of her life, Brad Luttrell while at Barney’s Truck Stop in Yuma, Arizona, and was married shortly thereafter. Karen and Brad drove trucks together for many years before owning and operating PDQ Taxi Service in Muncie. Friends will remember Karen as a hard-willed person who loved her grandchildren BJ Ray and DJ and Sarah Rawlins, who lovingly called her Granny.
Besides her husband, children, and grandchildren, survivors include a brother, sisters, sisters-in-law Kelly Luttrell and Shonda Conatser (Claude), nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and two brothers.
Karen was cremated with no services.
