Karen Sue (Brewer) Mills, 77, Selma, passed Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1943 in Huntsville, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Katrina (Rodeffer) Brewer.
Karen was a proud 1961 graduate of Parker City High School. She was a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She taught first grade at Monroe Central Elementary for 26 years.
She attended Harvest Sharing Life Church, prior to that she had attended Selma UMC (Compass Church) for 45 years.
Karen was a proud mother of two children and an amazing Mammy to her grandchildren. She enjoyed a wonderful life including many trips all over the world, most recently dear to her heart were her trips to Liberia and the many summers she spent in Sioux Narrows in Ontario, Canada at Tomahawk Resort on Lake of the Woods.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob” Mills; daughter, Tammy (Nancy Craig) Mills; son, Trent (Aimee) Mills; five grandchildren, Grace, Maddie and Wes Mills-Craig and Tyler and Parker (Lexi) Mills; sisters-in-law, Janice (Henry) Cole and Julie (Paul) Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Jerry Mills; close friends, Shirley (Bob) Eliason; Beth (DeWayne) Ford; Jeri (Earl) Follin; Lois Aldefer and Nancy (Steve) McCoy; her aunt, Iva Jane Swoveland; uncle, Jerry Cross; four nephews and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Katrina Brewer; and her sister, Nancy Brewer.
A celebration of life service will be held at Harvest Sharing Life Church, 1010 E. Centennial Ave., Muncie, IN at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Services will also be livestreamed via Livestream Harvest Sharing Life.
Calling will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service.
