Kathleen Gruwell, 88, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Indiana, on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Kathy was born in Muncie on October 12, 1937, the daughter of John E. and Martha A. (Cecil) Redmond 

Following graduation from Muncie Central in 1955, Kathy went on to work for Bill Connor Chevrolet.  She later worked at Kmart as a pharmacy technician and, most recently, at Walmart.  Kathy enjoyed bowling, camping, ceramics, and traveling.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia Kern; her children, Brian Mock, Laura Morton, and John McClafferty; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a nephew; and several nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steve Mock, her siblings Jerry Redmond and Noreen Russell, and brothers-in-law Donn Russell and Robert Kern.

The family would like to thank the staff of Signature Healthcare and the IU Ball Memorial Hospital second floor, ICU, and fifth floor Hospice for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana, on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 12:00 PM.  Friends may call on the family from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
