Kevin Holt, 60, passed away early Thursday morning, September 30, 2021 at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on February 9, 1961 in Muncie, Indiana the son of Frederick and Mary Jane (Emenhiser) Holt.
Kevin was a proud graduate from Muncie Southside High School, class of 1979. He was employed by Ball State University for 31 years, retiring in 2020. He was a Band Booster for the Muncie Southside band and later with Muncie Central when the two schools merged. Kevin was well known for driving the large equipment trailer for both the Muncie Southside and Muncie Central Band. Both students and parents could always identify him due to his train conductor hat. He enjoyed hunting, collecting shot glasses and especially loved camping. Kevin was known as a handyman that could fix anything, often when others could not.
Survivors include sons Cory Holt (fiancé Ashley Ashby) and Justin Holt (Abby) both of Muncie, two sisters Judith Reffitt of Albany and Karen Cox of Muncie, seven grandchildren Essence Kay, Vyncent, Avery, and Kellie Holt and also Araiyna, Annalyse and Altaeus. Kevin also leaves behind his ex-wife and good friend Kathy (Frey) Holt and several nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Holt and a sister Linda Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Albert Reffitt officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Cemetery Park.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the day of the service.
