Larry L. Swhier, 79, and Edna “Carmen” Swhier, 76, went to be with their Lord and Savior June 1, 2021.
Dad and Mom were happily married for 61 years and retired owners of The Book Center.
Dad loved fishing, racing cars and welding in his mom’s garage. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own Larry’s Fabricating and several book store’s.
Mom loved playing bingo with her life long friend Roberta Thomas, weekly trips to the Goodwill’s and Ponderosa with her sisters.
They will sadly be missed by all of the family, their six children, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mom and Dad’s door was always’ open to all of us, family, friends, or anyone in need.
Nobody was a stranger at the Swhier Home.
Survivors include their children, Sandra Williamson; Larry W. Swhier; Norman Swhier; Bonnie Swhier; Brian Swhier (Mary); and Tony Swhier (Desaray).
Larry’s survivors include, two sisters, Judy Vaught (Bruce); Betty Biery; and his brother, Roger G. VanSkyock.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Wayman W. Swhier; mother and father, Roger B. and Ruth Van Skyock.
Carmen’s survivors include two sisters, Barbara Evans (Harold); Doris Thomas; and three brothers, Marion Shockley, Mike Shockley, and Patrick Shockley.
Carmen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marion and Virginia Shockley.
Services for Larry and Edna will be held at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 with Rev. Carl Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Calling will be at the mortuary from 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of service.
