Lela Gail Fair, 81, went home to be with the Heavenly Father on December 5th, 2024 at 4:30 PM. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on October 2nd, 1943 to Clisba Daniel Wood and Lela Wave Wood (Edwards) in Greenville, Ohio. The family moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1957. In Muncie, she met her husband Jack Lee Fair and they officially tied the knot on June 23rd, 1961. Together, Jack and Gail had two children - Jack Alan Fair and Suwanna Marie Dickey (Fair). They were married for 56 years before her husband’s passing in 2017.

Gail worked from home as a child care provider for many years. Gail was a very caring and compassionate person and was very positive, even through hard times. She loved Amish books, movies and food. She loved flowers, butterflies and angels as well as cardinals and doves. She loved hard candies, chocolates, popsicles and orange pineapple ice cream from Hunnicutt’s Dairy Bar in Muncie.

Gail was preceded in death by both of her parents; Clisba Daniel Wood and Lela Wave Wood (Edwards), her husband; Jack Lee Fair, her half-brother; John Robert Wood, her half-sisters; Cora May Passon Ward, Mildred Wanetta Wissinger, Nadine Valentina Hayes Clemens, Edith Elizabeth Cook, Avo Sleppy and Mary Margarite Gasper, and her daughter; Suwanna Fair (Dickey).

She is survived by her son; Jack Alan Fair, her grandchildren; Sabrina Fair, Sean Fair and Marissa Marie Dickey, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday December 12, 2024 at 1:00PM, at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, Muncie, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on the day of the service.  Cremation will follow.
