Our beloved Lenore Yvonne Lutton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 3, 2023. She was born December 1, 1932, in Muncie, the daughter of Moyne J. and Clara Sara Edwards. She was a cherished Mom, Granny, and friend during her incredible 91 years of life.
Lenore was a loving and supportive wife to her husband George “Poppy” Lutton, who retired from the Muncie Fire Department. Granny met Poppy in 1948 when she rode her bike to the gas station where he worked. He borrowed her bicycle-never to return it! They married in October of that year and remained that way for almost 60 years until he died in 2008.
Lenore was a bright student and received two double promotions during her school days, then attended Munce Central High School. She worked at Collegiene Shop, Parker City Tax Service, H&R Block, Ross Corner, and the Muncie License Branch. She attended Full Gospel Temple and volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul. Mom enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, baking cookies, and writing the most thoughtful notes in her beautiful handwriting. But across the years, her greatest joy and achievement was her family. Lenore unconditionally, and unselfishly loved her family and supported them throughout her life.
Lenore is survived by daughters Sandy Gregory (Bruce), Patsy Brown (Dave), Bonnie Shively, Betty Baker (Douglas), and daughter-in-law Debbie Lutton. Also surviving are grandchildren Wendy Hodge, Brad Gregory (Becky), Traci Lutton (Ty Morton), Sandy Landfert (Vinny), Eric Lutton (Katie), Carly Schull (Mike), Aaron Snodgrass, Alison Storms (Brian), Clifton Segraves (Brenna), Tim Brown (Morgan Whitaker), Donny Segraves (Amanda), and Mary Schliessman. Great Grandchildren; Edward Austin Wren, Ann Gregory, Colby Starr, Harrison Landfert, Briceton King, Evangeline and Genevieve Lutton, Kaitlin and Grace Snodgrass, Ethan Wise, Haylee, and Arian Storms, Orion Jones, and Arionna, Noah, Grace, Abraham, and Titus Segraves, with three great-great-grandchildren Keanu, Ka’ila, and Kalani. She is also survived by siblings Beverly Joanne Leeka and Frank Edwards as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, husband George D. Lutton, son Vernon Dale Lutton, and siblings Phyllis Welty, Jean Acton, Eileen Armstrong, Dolly May, Moyne Edwards, Larry Edwards, and Fred Edwards.
