Lola Mae Harrell, 89, of Yorktown, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2024, at Yorktown Manor, with her family by her side.
She was born on April 2, 1935, in Grundy, Virginia, to Roland and Florence (Lester) and grew up with a love for reading and gardening. Lola cherished spending time with her family and friends, and her faith was central to her life. She was a devoted member of the Westside Church of Christ, where she nurtured her strong relationship with God.
Lola is survived by her niece, Rebecca (John) Norris, great-nephews Wyatt and Garrett, niece Jackie Deskins (Gerald), great-nieces Madison Deskins and Abigail Rife, and her sister, Bessie Looney. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Buford Ramey, her second husband, John Malcolm Harrell, and her 11 siblings, with whom she shared many memories over the years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to ViaQuest Hospice for the care and love shown to Lola, especially to Nurse Kristy.
Lola's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will be missed by all who knew her.
