Lorene E. Waters, 87, went to her heavenly home on November 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born on September 4, 1937, to General J. Strunk and Emma Slaven.

Lorene enjoyed crocheting and quilting.  She was a loving person to all, especially her family.  Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church.  She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Bertha Benge; sons, Danny Waters, Stanley (Laura) Waters, and Wendell (Tina) Waters; daughters, Regina (John) Golliher, and Lisa (Jason) Whittenburg; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Crawford Strunk, and Johnny Strunk; sisters, Mildred Taylor, and Mamie Perry; three husbands, Henney Dester Waters, Kenneth Writtenhouse, and Duncan Delk; son, Gary Waters; and one grandson and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Westside Baptist Church, 3021 W. Cornbread Road, Muncie, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, and 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Westside Baptist Church.  Burial will take place following the funeral at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, Muncie, Indiana.  Pastor Larry Waters will officiate.
