Lowell Leonard Todtman Obituary

Lowell Leonard Todtman passed away on January 26, 2025 in Muncie, Indiana at the age of 71 years old.  He was born in Santa Monica, California on October 6, 1953 to Loweth Todtman and Mercedes Hunsaker (Liggit).  Lowell eventually made his way to Humboldt County, California, making it his long-term home.

In 1974 Lowell met his soon to be wife, Bonnie (Workman).  They met while working together at Johnny’s Cookhouse in Fortuna.  Lowell and Bonnie had three daughters and stayed together until 2017.  At that time, the open road was calling and Lowell began living a vagabond lifestyle.  During his later years he resided in various towns and cities in Montana, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada, never staying anywhere for very long.

Lowell will be remembered for telling innumerous dad jokes and stories.  The stories always painted vivid images in the listener’s mind, leaving them curious if they’d just been told fact or fiction.  Only time was able to tell.  He also seemed to have an endless knowledge of useless facts, which led to his family giving him the moniker of “Cliff Clavin”.

Lowell is preceded in death by his father Loweth Todtman, mother Mercedes Hunsaker (Max), and brother John Todtman.  He is survived by his sister Norma Lynch; estranged wife Bonnie Todtman; children and their spouses Erin & Rick Justice, Maggie & Jason Simas, and Becky Todtman; grandchildren Taylor Cuda, Corine Cuda, Desmond Justice, Gabriel Perry, Alauna Perry, Elizabeth Perry, Jessica Wallgren (Ben), and Heather Simas; great-grandchildren Remi Grimm, Lucas Mora, Lily Wallgren, Luke Wallgren, and Lucy Simas.
