M. Carolyn Hines Obituary

M. Carolyn Hines, 87, of Muncie, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2025. She was born on May 21, 1937, in Muncie, Indiana, to William and Ruth (Ross) Hines.

Carolyn enjoyed a variety of activities throughout her life. She loved fishing, going for long drives, working on puzzles, and listening to bluegrass and old country music. She also cherished spending time with her daughter and her beloved puppies. Singing old church hymns was another passion of hers.

Carolyn worked at Central Manufacturing, retiring after 12 years, and also worked as a car hop at Carson's. A lifelong learner, she went back to Ball State University to study computers for four years. Known for her bravery, sweetness, and kind-loving heart, Carolyn had a special love for Bear Creek in Onita, Tennessee, and enjoyed being outdoors in any capacity.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Laura Hines; three heart daughters, Debbie Youngburg, Rebecca Kirby, and Melanie McDaniel; her puppy, Amanda; and her cats, Lance, Lily, and Pax. She is also survived by her cousins, Shelia George Sexton and Gayla Kidd.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Ruth Marie Hines; her sister, Edna Stout; her brother, George Hines, and her beloved grandmother, Bertha Ross.

In lieu of flowers, Carolyn would have appreciated donations to the Action for Animals or organizations supporting Alzheimer's and dementia research. She also expressed a desire for others to plant trees in her memory. Her favorite trees were Dogwood and magnolias; she also loved tulips and roses.
